The 2005-2008 Corvette Quick Release Front Plate Frame is very high quality, has great looks, and is reasonably priced. You can buy it with confidence. You will be proud to have this on your new C6 because it is sturdy and very well built.
Did you know more and more states are requiring front license plates? Presently, at least 38 out of 50 states require front plates regardless of the car design.
Historically these laws have not been enforced. However, recent data shows that states are increasing enforcement and the amount of their fines.
Being avid Corvette owners ourselves, we prefer not to have a front plate on any Vette, particularly at shows, events, and track days.
Features:
- High quality strong unit.
- No physical attachment to the front fascia (free floating – nothing touches your Corvette fascia).
- No holes to drill (uses 3 existing mounting points behind the grill).
- Does not show through your front grill when installed (if the plate is unattached).
- Light weight.
- Black powder coating for a long lasting finish.
- Fast on and off.
- Easy to install.
- Durable.
- Meets state compliance for a front plate.
- Safe.
- Patent Pending.
Use
The plate frame is easily removable when appropriate, such as for car shows, photo shoots, and racing. Simply pull on the frame in a straight and forward motion and it will pop loose.
To replace the plate frame, insert the longer alignment pins in the lower connection point. Push the plate straight completely into the mount bracket until all four pins are completely in. Verify this either by feel or visually. Verification is important to prevent inadvertent loss of the plate frame.

Installation:
Take it to your friendly automotive shop for a 30 minute install or follow these easy instructions:
- Jack up car and place on jack stands in such a manner to gain easy access to the bottom of the front bumper. Refer to user’s manual for correct jacking procedure.
- With the 7mm socket and short extension remove and save the 7mm bolt at center back of cooling opening.
- Remove the U-nut from the upper black section of the fascia by prying with the screwdriver and pulling with the pliers. Re-install the u-nut on the slotted portion of the mount bracket.
- Reaching inside the bumper fascia from the cooling opening find the two 7mm bolts directly behind the grill and approximately 3” either side of center and remove and set them aside. (They will not be reused.)
- Take the mounting bracket and carefully angle it up into the fascia from the cooling opening. By angling and rotating the bracket at the indentation where the 7mm bolt was the bracket will go up and inside the cooling area.
- Reaching inside the cooling area with the cross brace, place cross brace on the mount bracket stud. Place the nylock nut on the stud and tighten with the 3/8” open end wrench.
- Place the completed mount bracket in its location centered on the grill.
- Insert the 7mm bolt in the rear center location. Install the 2 fender washers on the #8 screws.
- Install the #8 screws through the cross brace in the place of the 7mm bolts in the area behind the grill. Push bracket all the way forward and tighten all 3 screws.
- Insert the plate frame into the mount bracket. Check assembly for clearance and alignment. Reposition if needed.
- Lower car off jack stands.
- Insert your license plate into the plate frame and install the ¼” 20 screws into the lower two holes in the plate frame.
- Installation is now complete
